Honey Garlic Salmon
Honey garlic salmon is baked salmon fillets coated in a glaze of honey, garlic and soy sauce, an American home-cooking dish.

Ingredients
- salmon fillets, about 150 g each, 2.5–3 cm thick4
- honey3 tbsp
- soy sauce2 tbsp
- garlic cloves4
- butter30 g
- lemon0.5
- smoked paprika0.5 tsp
- salt0.5 tsp
- black pepper0.25 tsp
Method
- 1Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels. Season with salt, pepper and smoked paprika on all sides. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F) and position a rack in the center.
- 2Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant but not browned. Add the honey, soy sauce and juice of half the lemon. Stir and cook for 1–2 minutes until the glaze is slightly thickened and glossy. Remove from heat. Reserve 2 tablespoons of glaze for basting.
- 3Line a baking dish or rimmed sheet with foil. Place the salmon skin-side down. Spoon the glaze evenly over each fillet, making sure to coat the top and sides.
- 4Bake for 12–14 minutes until the salmon is just cooked through and the flesh flakes easily at the thickest point. The center should look just barely opaque.
- 5Switch the oven to broil (grill) on maximum. Spoon the reserved glaze over the fillets and broil for 2–3 minutes until the top is caramelized, sticky and slightly charred at the edges. Watch closely — honey burns fast.
- 6Rest for 2 minutes. Serve immediately with the pan juices spooned over. Goes best with steamed rice or roasted broccoli to soak up the glaze.
